Biography
Alessandro Dandini de Sylva (born in 1981) is a photographer and curator based in Rome. His works have been featured in various exhibitions in Italy and abroad, including recent shows at the Italian Cultural Institute in Paris and at Operativa Arte Contemporanea in Rome. In 2009 he was chosen as finalist for the Talent Prize and his work was displayed at the Centrale Montemartini Museum in Rome.
Since 2011 he has been curator of FOTOGRAFIA – Rome Photography Festival, taking place at MACRO – Museum of Contemporary Art of Rome. In 2012 he was chosen as resident artist at the Italian Cultural Institute in Paris during the Mois de la Photo as part of the project entitled Les Promesses de l'Art. In 2013 Alessandro Dandini de Sylva was nominated Guest Curator at the Pastificio Cerere Foundation in Rome, where he curated a series of exhibitions dedicated to contemporary photography. Recently awarded with the Shanghai Prize 2014.
