Biography
Céline Villegas is a Franco-Chilean photographer, born in 1981, and holds a degree from Lyon Institute for Political Studies. She's a self-educated photographer, and works as such since 2013. Céline's work combines abstraction and reality. She has a unique perspective on reality, and she particularly works on urban land portraits. Between 2013 and 2015, she started to get interested in the architecture of seaside towns, notably in her series "Balnearios + Ultra", which is a cross-cut of Marseilles, Beirut and Tel Aviv. This work has been presented by Agnès b. at the young European photography festival Circulation(s), Paris, in 2016. Since then, she has worked on Deauville, Casablanca and Le Havre, and is finishing a documentary series on synchronised swimming in France "Look Mama I'm dancing".
