Years earlier on this very beach to the north of the country, our whole family came to Club Med to celebrate Bastille Day with fireworks. After the summer of 2006 and the second Lebanon war, the place was deserted, then closed down leaving that Mickey Mouse head to tell us about the story of the desertion. Like thousands of plastic bits found in the sea it stands as a silent witness to our disillusions.
