Biographie
Céline Barakat is Lebanese-Canadian, born and raised in Beirut.
She founded "ceelion, the vagabond studio" where she devotes her time to creating images. She works in film and photography and combines the two worlds together where she focuses on a social narrative inspired by our daily lives.
Her work explores the body and the city; both used as projection spaces for intimate explorations and emotions. Céline is interested in the subject's gaze, which can engage the viewer while immortalizing a precise and unique moment.
She holds a BFA in Audiovisual Arts and Film Directing from the Lebanese Academy of Fine Arts (ALBA) and a Master of Arts (Research and Creation in Film Studies) from the Université de Montréal, and is fluent in Arabic, French and English.
