Biographie
Konstantin Grcic (*1965) trained as a cabinetmaker at the John Makepeace School for Craftsmen
in Wood before studying design at the Royal College of Art in London. Since founding his own
in 1991, he has designed furniture, products and lighting for some of the world's leading
leading design brands. Today, Konstantin Grcic Design is based in Berlin and is active in several fields,
from industrial design to design publishing, exhibition design and collaborations in the fields of
architecture and fashion. He works in collaboration with manufacturers Artek, ClassiCon, Flos, Flötotto,
Kettal, Laufen, Magis, Mattiazzi, Muji, Mutina, Nespresso, Plank, Serafino Zani and Vitra.
In the fashion and lifestyle sector, it includes Audi, Hugo Boss, Issey Miyake, Prada, Rado and smart/Daimler.
Several of his projects have won international design awards, including the Compasso d'Oro,
Designer of the Year (Maison et Objet, Paris) and the German Design Award.
The world's leading design museums (including MoMA/New York, Centre Pompidou/
Paris, Die Neue Sammlung/Munich) feature his creations in their permanent collections.
Since 2020, Grcic has been a professor at Hamburg's University of Fine Arts (Hochschule für Bildende
Künste) and was appointed member of the Berlin Academy of Arts (Akademie der Künste) in 2021.
