Biography

Graduated from the Louis-Lumière school, Philippe Ayrault works in the Heritage and Inventory Department of the Île-de-France Region. For several years now, he has been working on photographing the industry and the suburbs. He has participated in about thirty exhibitions and books. His latest publications for the department are La Cité internationale universitaire de Paris and L'industrie dans la vallée de la Seine in Seine-et-Marne. He co-directs with Julie Corteville the Ré-Inventaire collection.

In addition, in 2018 and 2019, he was in charge of the photographic direction of the Centre Dramatique de Montluçon, during two carte blanche, as associate artist.

A retrospective exhibition of his work at the Chartreuse de Villeneuve-lès-Avignon is scheduled on site from July 9 to October 19, 2020.
