A macro shot of a tiny translucent (abandoned) snail shell lit from beneath to allow the light to glow through it. I set the shot up with a speed light and remote trigger placed inside a box pointing up at a 2mm hole over which the shell was placed. The shell itself was only around 10mm in diameter. I shot from a tripod looking staight down through a 105mm Sigma macro lens using a cable shutter release and everything on manual. I was basically shooting in the dark, using a small torch to focus and adjust position to get the effect i was after with no ambient light sneaking in. Nailing focus was a real game of patience.
