‘Radmila – Public Toilet Attendant, Belgrade, Serbia, 2018’ Radmila works in a public toilet adjacent to the market in Belgrade’s district of Zvezdara. Based in her little cabin six days a week, she cleans several toilets and charges people for the use of them. Disappointed in life, yet deeply religious, she finds her solace in animals. At home, she looks after about twenty cats and as many dogs, and brings her favourites to work everyday, because they cannot be without her. She loves them so much that she is ready to die for them. As she speaks about them, she kisses them on the muzzle, to which they reply with purrs or wags of the tail.
