Biography
An artist and an urban beekeeper, Olivier Darné found with bees a medium and a way of exploration that crosses various areas of contemporary creation. He works today, by himself, by arranging his bees, his installations and his questions on pavements of cities, interrogating the relations between the savage and the civilised, “cultural biodiversity” of man and his surroundings. In 2000, he installed an experimental apiary on the roof of the town hall of Saint-Denis (93) where he produced in the heart of the city a new taste of the city : - the “Concrete of Honey”. With the artists’ collective, Parti Poétique, that he founded in 2003, Olivier Darné developed a multidisciplinary research project on the city and nature in the city. It was evolved around the principle of “Pollination of the city”, different research works mixed “art, science and politics”.
