Biography
In his first life, Pascal Chantier is a pharmacy preparer. Finding no prescription to cure his devouring passion for the cinema, he succumbs first to writing. A film critic for various dailies and specialized magazines, he wrote a monograph on Patrice Leconte and others. Then, requesting by Gilles Legrand, he becomes a set photographer on Les Ames grises. Discreet, considerate and laughing, he seizes without stopping the magic moments that are the play of the actor and the life on more than 35 feature films. He was able to accompany Alain Corneau, Emmanuel Mouret, Dominique Farrugia, Jean-Pierre Améris and Daniel Duval. He is the official photographer of Alexandre Astier, Patrice Leconte and Gilles Legrand.
A lover of theater, who had introduced him to Roger Planchon, he regularly follows the creations of Jean-Michel Ribes, Emmanuel Meirieu and Frédéric Andrau.
He was also the founder of the professional association of Photographers of Associated Films, of which he was president in 2015 and 2016.
