Alexa Brunet, born in 1977, graduated from the Art College in Belfast in 1998 and the National School of Photography in Arles in 2001. She has been part of the collective transit based in Montpellier and Marseille since 2004. She works for national and international press, institions and local authorities. Besides, she runs personnal photographic projects in France and abroad in collaboration with writers and reporters.
She is often invited to exhibit ans has won several distinctions for her work. She has done many photographic scholarships (Niort, Rencontres d’Arles, Diaphane, CNAP Documentary Grant). She teaches photography since 2009 through workshops in schools and festivals.
She has published several books : Post, Ex-Yougoslavie(le bec en l’air Editions), Habitants Atypiques (Images en Manoeuvres Editions), En Somme (Diaphane Editions), Dystopia and Abrégé des secrets (le bec en l’air Editions).
She lives in Ardeche and is represented by transit/ SAIF Images.
