Biography
Karim Kal was born in 1977 in Geneva of an Algerian father and a French mother. He lives and works in Lyon. He was studied at the art school of Avignon, then at that of Grenoble before graduating from the photography school of Vevey, Switzerland. His work explores parent issues migration and territorial identities. Through the materials that are the building and the urban environment, Karim Kal questions the notions of migratory movements, of territorial identities and modes of photographic representation of these notions. His work has been shown at the Institute of Contemporary Art in Villeurbanne or at the Museum National History of Immigration in Paris.
