    This portrait was made 2 months before our tragedy. When my mum started anticipating the end and as she admitted after, she was silently crying in the yard so no one could see her. On the day of my father’s death, I beg off work, arrived home and trashed the flat crying in hysterics and blaming all doctors and the entire Russian health care sector. My mum was quietly smoking in the kitchen. She kept saying she cried enough in these months. From series What The Water took away from Me / 2019 - recently
