Tou Bichvat : the New Year of the Trees
Tou Bichvat, a day of joy considered to be the "New Year of the Trees", is a Jewish festival marked by the eating of fruit, the planting of trees and, more broadly, meditations on the cycle of nature. This ecological celebration takes place on the 15th day of the month of Shvat in the Hebrew calendar, usually in January or February: in 2024, this "New Year of the Trees" will take place from the evening of Wednesday 24 to Thursday 25 January.
