Approach your subject, face to face : question their identity and capture their mindset. Treat the subject of your photo as an author would their character. Play with distances, bring out their traits against a neutral background, try and match the scenery with their personality. Beneath a visage, there are so many tales to tell and countless ways to tell them. The terms of participation are as follows: the presentation of a coherent series of 8 images minimum. For winning the first prize by the jury, one must provide at least 10 images in a series of portrait(s) to win the contest. The winner's exhibition will be presented at the 2018 Edition and will include between 15 and 20 images. The prize-winner must be able to provide between 5 and 10 additional images before the deadline on April 30th. The photos for the exhibition will be selected by the artistic director of Portrait (s) also the winner.
Ready, set, portrait ! The jury -comprises of Charlotte Boudon (Associate Director Galerie Les Filles du Calvaire), Patrick Le Bescont (Director Filigranes Editions), Nathalie Marchetti (Picture Editor at L’Express), Fany Dupêchez (Artistic Director of Portrait (s), Karim Boulhaya (Director of the Valery-Larbaud Cultural Center & co-curator of Portrait (s),Julie Plus with the representatives of the Festival Portrait(s) and the Wipplay team will all select the 3 winners. Only series consisting of at least 10 images will be eligible for the 1st prize. For additional information, please check the guidelines.
