Biography
Dominique Leroux was born in 1959 in Brest, where he lives and works. He began his career with show photography and became a professional in 1993.
After an exhibition on the construction of the aircraft carrier "Charles de Gaulle", followed by the book "Metal trainers", he devoted himself to reporting with a particular interest in the work of men. He regularly collaborates with various magazines, in particular Paris Match, on the sinking of the Bugaled Breizh. Dominique Leroux participated in the creation of the Cape (Atlantic Center of Photography) and chaired it for a year, then took the post of artistic director of the exhibitions at the gallery of the Dialogue bookstore in Brest. After the publication of several books, he exhibited in his city, in June 2007, 1350 portraits of Brestois. Between 2009 and 2012, he followed the construction of the Brest tramway.
In 2012, he created La Galerie des Docks, the first photographic gallery in Brittany, which will represent the work of 20 photographers. In 2017, he was already artistic director of the photo festival "Ailleurs" organized by the city of Vannes.
