Biography

Ghada Hatem is originally from Lebanon, which she is leaving to study medicine in France and specialize in obstetric gynecology. She became head of the maternity department at the Delafontaine hospital in Saint Denis, where circumcised women represent a large number of parturients. Ghada Hatem-Gantzer and three other surgical specialists trained with urologist Pierre Foldes and created a reconstruction and repair service for genital mutilation. The maternity ward is cramped in its premises. Ghada Hatem-Gantzer then decides to build a Women's House in order to offer comprehensive care for women. Since 2016, this unique place has welcomed all vulnerable women or victims of violence, physical and psychological. A medico-social unit, it supports its patients towards recovery and autonomy thanks to a multidisciplinary team of caregivers, actors in the world of police, justice and law, but also artists and athletes.
