This photo was taken in Algiers (Algeria) on March 29th, 2019, during the Hirak (Movement in Arabic) demonstrations. The whole of civil society is in the streets and demonstrating against a 5th term of President Bouteflika, unheard of for decades ... (In 2011, Algeria did not know its Arab Spring like its neighbors; perhaps the more than 150,000 dead and thousands missing in the civil war (1992-2001) had dissuaded the people?) This young boy, draped in the national flag, represents 45% of the population under 25, and is part of generation 2.0; he shows his anger and his rage to be able to live and die with dignity in his country.
