Biography
Pablo Nicolás Preci, documentary photographer and tireless traveler, was born in Buenos Aires.
He was mentored in Buenos Aires by aRGRa photographers Juan Manuel Ferrari and Sebastián Vricella, and in Patagonia by Hernán Canuti, correspondent for various foreign agencies.
He has worked extensively on the cultures of Central Asia, the Middle East and the indigenous peoples of the Andes. In his photographs, he reflects humanity, customs, problems and cultural diversity.
In 2018, he moved to the province of Salta. Here he is developing "Rituels andins" in the Calchaquí valley and "Cacheños", a series of portraits of the people who build the cultural identity of the people from their crafts and knowledge.
That same year, he gave initial and documentary photography workshops at Casa Tedín - an annex of the Pio Pablo Díaz archaeological museum. At the museum, he created a collective of photographers who collaborated and sought solutions to community problems.
He also took photos for the "Archaeology of Memory" educational project in the rural school of Cachi Adentro and, at the end of the year, presented "La Señalada" at the archaeological museum, an exhibition featuring some of the work done at the foot of the Nevado de Cachi.
In March 2019, he will return to Buenos Aires to produce an essay on cocaine paste base and recovery stories. The main idea behind "Paco. After the darkness" was to show the human side, the effort and the different stories of overcoming.
