Biographie

After working in various management positions in universal banking, Ms Päivi Heikkinen joined the Bank of Finland in 2004 as senior expert on financial markets infrastructure. She has headed the division for Oversight of Market Infrastructures in Bank of Finland Financial Markets and Statistics Department. Since 2014, as Head of Cash Department, she is responsible for Bank of Finland’s cash operations as well as security and premises. She has also followed and analysed the Fintech and virtual currencies from the very beginning.  Ms Heikkinen worked in Frankfurt at the ECB with market integration questions (2009-10). She has been a member in Eurosystem working groups and the Payment and Settlement Systems Committee. Currently, she is member of the Banknote Committee (BANCO) and of the Finnish Mint commemorative coin panel.
