Biographie
Flora is French artist, born in 1969, living in Paris.
In recent years, she pursued some researches with a Polaroid camera.
She focused her work on 3 main series:
Sois (2005-2009), a series of self-portraits and mother-with-child, explores the intimacy, the links uniting a mother and her very young childs.
L’ailleurs de l’autre (2009-2012), in three trips or chapters (Australia - Tasmania, Sydney / India - Varanasi / Japan - Sado Island - around Sendai, Hiroshima, Kyoto), tells a love, mourning and faith story, a quest for the invisible, for the emotional in photographs essentially from landscapes.
This work has been exhibited in several galleries and festivals (2010 Promenades photographiques de Vendôme, France – 2011 Cortona on the move, Italie – 2012 Rencontres internationales de la photographie en Gaspésie, Canada - 2013 Fotofest International Discoveries IV, Houston, USA – Galerie du Théâtre, Magog, Canada – Galerie Salomon Duval, Paris, France - Delhi Foto Festival, New Delhi, Inde – 2014 Maison de la Culture Frontenac, Montréal, Canada – Galerie de l’hôtel La Belle Juliette, Paris).
Le gel (2013-2014), is both the exploration of a territory, the Gulf of Saint Lawrence in winter and a fiction, an intimate experience with a landscape.
This series was made during an artist residency initiated by the International photography encounters in Gaspésie and exhibited at the artist center Vaste et Vague in Carleton, Canada.
