Rachel Krief est réalisatrice, scénariste et photographe. Elle vit et travaille à Paris. Son œuvre parle de l’intime, elle part à la recherche du sens caché qu'elle révèle par ses images et son écriture. Comme pour le développement d'une photographie argentique, l'effet n'est pas instantané mais demande une préparation, un savoir-faire et du noir émerge doucement le sujet à la lumière. Il y a dans l'intime quelque chose qui n'est pas immédiat mais qui se tisse comme le fil de la vie. Cette approche personnelle surgit inconsciemment, et le photographe comme le modèle tous deux complices, offrent ces images à l'espace public. Fiction et réel se confondent alors, quelle part de vérité dans tout cela ?… La photographie fait partie intégrante de son parcours d'écriture et de cinématographe. Rachel a écrit et réalisé des fictions telles que La table dressée (2018), The exchange (2015) ou Linda (2011), ainsi qu’un documentaire, Dieu dit : Abandonne-moi mais étudie (2010). Finaliste en écriture de scénario sur deux concours, Le Label scénario 2019 à la Maison du Film et en 2020 pour HLM sur cour(t). Elle met en scène une pièce de théâtre pour le Festival off d'Avignon. Elle est diplômée des Ateliers Varan en réalisation documentaire. Rachel expose régulièrement son travail photographique en solo ou en collectif.
